Oksana Kosenkina is a Russian teacher who jumped out of the window of the Soviet Consulate in New York City on the 23rd August 1948 to obtain political asylum in the United States. She got it after having denounced the Soviet Union. She was Ukrainian. The scene was filmed by WPIX television. Source: Life magazine.
